Cotton plants grow much slower and require a specific climate. They need much more water and must be sprayed with pesticides to combat pests and diseases. Bamboo is naturally resistant to these and hardly needs any water. This makes bamboo's ecological footprint many times smaller than cotton. In addition, Bolas Bamboo is 95% bamboo and 5% elastane.
