I'm planning to invest more in my mental health. It's crucial to be strong both physically and mentally, especially as the pressure increases.

Back to The Basic

With my new personal best in my last decathlon, I feel stronger than ever. This feels like a new beginning and an opportunity to pursue my ultimate goal – the Olympic Games – once again. This journey has taught me to celebrate every victory, no matter how small, and to view every setback as a learning experience.

This record symbolizes all the hard work, frustrations, and moments of self-doubt I've endured. It reminds me that the process is just as important as the outcome. Life, like the decathlon, is a series of challenges and triumphs. Every discipline, jump, and race are chapters in my story, and I am proud of how far I have come.

Summer Holiday: Time for Recovery and Reflection

The summer holiday is the perfect time to recharge physically and mentally. After an intense season full of training, it's important to take a step back. This summer, I've enjoyed nature, spending time with friends and family, and letting go of the pressure of training.

A highlight of this summer was my visit to the Olympic Games in Paris, where I watched my teammates Sven and Rik compete. It was incredibly motivating to see them perform at the highest level. It showed me that we are in a super strong group, and it has made me even more determined to chase my goals.

You only have one body and one mind for the rest of your life. It is crucial to take good care of them, even during a holiday. That's why I want to stay active and do something daily to keep my mind sharp.

The feeling of comfort and support I get from BOLAS Underwear and the BOLAS team is very important to me. This gives me the freedom to fully concentrate on top-level sport and get the best out of myself.

The Importance of a Team

A large part of my success is due to the team around me. My coaches have tailored my training for recovery and changed my mental approach to the sport. They have taught me that every step is valuable. The motivation of my training partners has inspired me to persevere on the toughest days.

The Next Step

With my personal record, I have laid a strong foundation for the upcoming season. After the holiday, we will resume full training for the new season, with a focus on optimizing my technique and overall resilience.

I plan to invest more in my mental health. It is crucial to be strong both physically and mentally, especially as the pressure increases.
